NNU’s AMA collegiate chapter earned the Outstanding Community Service award at the International AMA Collegiate Conference in New Orleans.
The School of Business is pleased to announce the accomplishment of AMA (American Marketing Association) Collegiate Chapter as a recipient of the ‘Outstanding Community Service’ award. NNU’s AMA Collegiate Chapter competed against over 300 universities and placed in the top 5% in this category.
The AMA conference focuses on chapter competition but also invites industry experts to educate students about upcoming marketing trends to prepare them to be successful in business world. This year’s keynote speaker, Jeffrey Hayzlett, a former CMO of Kodak and best-selling author, emphasized the importance of listening to the customer and not to be afraid of change. Fortune 500 companies speaking and attending the conference include Google, YouTube, the ZOO, Social Media Energy, AFLAC, FBI etc.
Courtney Gilbert, president, and Erick Gutierrez, vice president, represented NNU’s AMA Chapter and were accompanied by Dr. Konya Weber, who serves as NNU’s faculty advisor as well as a judge for AMA Collegiate competitions. Courtney Gilbert commented, “The AMA collegiate conference was a wonderful experience! I learned many new way to market myself, my future employer, and NNU’s AMA chapter. I truly hope that more students can go to conference in the future because it was very beneficial to me and my teammate Erick.”
