Shanna Rippy, 2013 Graduate in Economics, received word this week that she was the recipient of the prestigious ”Chuck Phillips Outstanding Student Leadership Award” from the International Honor Society in Economics, Omicron Delta Epsilon (ODE). The award is limited to just 3 students per year of all active student members from the 678 ODE Chapters worldwide. Dr. David Chaplin, Associate Professor of Economics and Faculty Advisor for ODE, had this to say about Shanna’s achievement: “I cannot overstate what a massive achievement this is for Shanna and what a glorious day this is for the NNU School of Business and ODE Chapter. NNU has only had an ODE Chapter since May, 2011. In that short time, we have received a grant for two students to present their research at an economics conference in Memphis, Tennessee and have attained elite recognition through Shanna’s achievements.”
For her achievement, Shanna received a custom-minted medallion, certificate, congratulatory letter and will be acknowledged on the ODE website and in a forthcoming edition of The American Economist (the journal of ODE).
